First thing in the morning it tends to be the last track that was playing on the radio!!! That last song can either make or ruin my ride in some mornings!

Me too! If I had to set up a ladies' cycle team that would be my name of choice!

Who remembers The Good Life?

And the opening titles:

Whenever I freewheel, that duck springs to mind, because of the way it flaps for part of the loop then glides, then flaps again. So if any tune is going to come to mind, it's that theme....

I also sing The Gasman Cometh to myself on long rides, as it's one of the few songs I can remember all the words to without having it playing. The other is Growltiger, from Cats.

I particularly favour the the Verdi Requiem as something to hum.

Dies Irae for bad drivers; Libera Me for traffic jams; and the various trumpety bits for when I'm whizzing down a hill.

I was almost ashamed to say this but I nearly always hum Classical music - dunno why, just do.

I often find myself singing The Gas Man Cometh (Flanders and Swann) when cycling. I really don't know why it comes to mind...

"...With his blowtorch and his putty, and his merry glaaaayzier songggg!"
Can't really equate that to cycling though:biggrin:

PS...I've just checked and I do have video evidence of me singing "Mr Blue Sky" by ELO on one commute (it was a fab Morning)...to embarrassed to post the vid but trust me I was!!

Ah, Mr Lynne and his merry crew. I'd also add Don't Bring Me down, Four Little Diamonds, All Over The World and The Diary Of Horace Wimp to cycle to.

Music that springs to mind? Whatever my Walkman is playing (on low volume of course), although I have to be careful if The Ace Of Spades comes on though, I try to keep up with Phil Taylor's manic drumming ;)

I think I half composed a cycling version once, it was about fixing one part and the next going wrong... I can't remember any of it now!

Jump - Van Halen or Girls Aloud versions in equal frequency. No idea why, I'm not a fan of either of the groups or of the song, it does help me up hills though.

I don't have one, but have had on occassion some of the youngsters singing "I want to ride my bicycle" (as in the Queen song) at me when I've cycled past.

I think it's because my two year old is obsessed with this at the moment - it's on a children favourites CD we have. I found myself singing it this morning (I hope it was just in my head....)

There's a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Where a lovely lass
Had a lovely dream
And the dream came true, quite unexpectedly in
Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzenellenbogen By The Sea.....etc.
