A Dizzy M.A.B.I.L
I think the rider dealt with that really really well. Firstly, I'd have been MUCH more aggressive towards the offending driver (but that's just how I am) so the swearing I think was totally acceptable and I think alot of riders (myself included) wouldn't have held thier ground nearly as well.

#2 loves watching the cycling videos on YouTube, on a couple (ok a fair few) there is a bit of swearing, it's nothing he doesn't already hear on the school playground or in the park, he has repaeted some of the words, but hasn't really got a clue what they mean, so I just tell him they are naughty words & he really shouldn't use them.............anyways..
I had left the link on the browser & he has just watched this clip.. He looked at me & said
"Oh Mummy that man said a naughty word, but that driver really was a twat" Just for once I couldn't tell him off!

Can’t remember if bbborp posts on here – anyway, check out this lovely example of impatient driver who just must get past the cyclist at any cost – what I’m most amzed about on this clip is that bbborp doesn’t stop and turn the car over onto it’s lid – I think I’d have tried to at any rate...

maybe the driver of the cutting car is on a "POOP Emergency"... lol

very terrible driver.... he shouldn't drive, he should WALK!

That's very close to my house - I've lost count of the number of bad overtakes I've both seen and been subject to around there. Worst of the lot are the folk who try to overtake while driving through the long pinch point outside North Dulwich station. It's barely a car's width, but yet they still try...morons.

Present roadworks just after the station don't help at the moment either. Being a driver in that area as well, the best bet is to hang back until the mini roundabout at the bottom where *most* divers go left and *most* cyclists go straight on.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
What a complete and utter turd !!

All things considered the cyclist did very well to avoid being run off the road or sliding on that road surface , there is not a lot you can do if someone is determined to get past you they will force you off the road.

The bit where the driver undertakes and tries to push the cyclist into oncoming traffic is pre meditated , i am not sure what the charge should be but it certainly is not driving without due care and attention.

Crush the car and make it into something useful like a box for the 1 brain cell they obviously have .......

Why is the driving behaviour so bad just here? There are several large areas within a few miles that I generally associate with dodgy driving, such as Streatham, Catford, Camberwell, Tooting etc. where it pays to be vigilant. But this few hundred yards of road surrounded by fairly benign neighbourhoods has the highest concentration of aggressive driving I think I've come across. It was bad before most of the roads in the area were made 20mph - now it's dire, particularly as all the traffic calming features have now made the roads pretty much obstacle courses.

I think it's used as a rat run from the South Circular round to Camberwell Road/Denmark Hill as it avoids Lordship Lane and the area round by the East Dulwich Sainsbury's which is always busy.

If I can make a suggestion - if you're coming through Dulwich village, do a right down East Dulwich Grove HERE, then left down Green Dale HERE and take the cycle path round to Champion Hill where you can do a right back on to Denmark Hill. Its less busy (obvs.) and actually just as quick IMO...

Do I look scared? Bring them on.

To resurrect this thread, a cyclist was knocked off outside North Dulwich station not ten minutes ago - my flatmate was just scraping him off the pavement. Seems reasonably OK apparently, but the ambulance is on its way anyway. Hope he's OK.

I observed that sort of driving on my ride on Sunday. I was approaching these lights which had just gone red, I was filtering from the single lane into primary in the left turn lane so I can get a good position at the stop line, there was no traffic in front of me.

I then get a BMW (what a surprise

) overtake me at speed (20-30mph) and cut across the lane in front and jump the red light which had been so for more than 5 seconds!

So I sat at the lights in my own world thinking about it for a few seconds and didn't realise my filter light had gone green in that time. I was awoken from my thought by a beep from behind and a point to the lights, I got the message
