Is to point out that this is my 10,000th post! :hello:

It has become traditional, as in I did it last time, for me to make a special post once every 5,000 posts to say ...

Thanks again Shaun, for providing us with this lively cyclists' playground!

And also to thank those among you who are no longer just forum names and avatars to me, honourable members of ColinJ's CycleChat forum riders' club! The weather isn't always warm and friendly up here, but at least you lot are ...

Here's a selection of pictures taken on some of those forum rides over the past 15 months. Thanks to potsy for some of them. Speaking of potsy - you, sir, will get a shock if you watch the video clip below. That wet and windy, lumpy little ride at the start of 2011 almost killed you! The difference that 15 months of solid commuting and forum rides has made to you is very obvious to those of us who ride with you regularly - keep it up!

On each of the next 4 weekends, I will be riding with various forum members taking in some great cycling countryside in Cheshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, and a month after that in Rutland - I think this CycleChat concept really works! :highfive:

Bokonon? He still turns out on my forum rides from time to time but it is about a month since he logged in to CycleChat.
Well done and here's to the next 10,000:thanks:
Well done Colin.....I always look forward to reading your posts. Here's to the next 10,000
Thanks!
Now that is a lot of posts
It's amazing that you still manage to get out for rides Colin.
At least they weren't all in one day ... :hyper:
It has been pointed out to me on several occasions that if I spent as much time riding as I do writing or talking about it, then I'd be pretty damn fit!:whistle:

I need to update my avatar because the current one is about 5 years old. I'm afraid that my hair is pretty grey now and half of it has gone but vanity prevents me doing it until I have got that sucked-in cheeks, fit cyclist look back! Hopefully, that will be before post #15,000 ...

Out of curiosity, what is the highest amount of posts posted by one person in 24 hours ever, and who was it??

No, I'm not going to try.
It's easy to post a lot of times in one day if most of the posts are "+1" or "Yes!", "No!" or "Crap!" ^_^

It's a different matter when the posts actually have some substance to them ...

I reckon the most I ever posted in 24 hours was about 50 posts but normally it would be 10-20? I have averaged about 12 posts a day since my 5,000th post but the rate has definitely increased recently so if I carry on like that, I reckon I will hit 15,000 posts around Christmas time.

Don't encourage him for gawds sake.
Bastard!

Oh, BTW bastard colly - if you happen to be free on Sunday and fancy a nice ride in the hills, it is Spring Into The Dales time again. Calum was talking about doing it, so if you do decide to come over why not give him a shout. (Will too, if anybody can track him down!)
