The ******* spamming is a pain in the butt. It effectively killed a low traffic unmoderated bulletin board for Knockengorroch festival. The spamming started last November and has continued despite the link to the message board being dropped from the main festival web site.
Has anyone thought about co-ordinating an irate mass response to one of the phone numbers?
#31# in front of the number you are dialliing, when used on a mobile hides your phone from the system. So #31#016166*****, number I dialled yesterday, will mean that they will not get your number.(Full number withheld, but available. Got from this forum yesterday)I would do it but I don't want them to get my number, I'm bothered enough by muppets wanting to talk about my PPI insurance claim.
Well if not the source of the spamming, why are they not doing anything about it? Any reputable company would be concerned at the bad press its getting and try to get it stopped. Would they not?But is the number the source of the spamming or is it the target of malicious spamming?
They would try, yes. But I don't know how successful they could be. I'm sure EDL members would want to get their details removed after Hacktivists released them but, once they are out there....Well if not the source of the spamming, why are they not doing anything about it? have they denied its not them that are actually responsible for the spamming. As I said, a large number of calls were being fielded in the background when I rang yesterday. If a genuine company, think about the loss of trade caused by a large number of such calls on a daily basis. They would try, yes. But I don't know how successful they could be. No, I haven't followed it up, I was simply making the point that, while it might be a correct number, it might also not be. On the other hand, it's fair to ask why that number hasn't been closed down.have they denied its not them that are actually responsible for the spamming. Can they really afford to lose business, whilst doing nothing about it.
If the company actually exists, why would they want to shut down their numbers? Some-one may actually want to buy a second hand ex display kitchen! No, I haven't followed it up, I was simply making the point that, while it might be a correct number, it might also not be.
