Here's my Carrera TDF I bought a couple of months ago, I converted it to 30 speed, Upgrades include 105 Shifters, rear mech and chain, Tiagra Chainwheel and front mech, Shimano 68x118 BB, Tiagra Brake calipers with SLR cables, SP41 gear cables, Fizik 3mm bar tape, Sram PG1050 11/32 cassette. Schwalbe Lugano yellow/black tyres, Shimano SPD pedals, Zefal spring bottle holders.
Not the lightest bike in the world, but at below entry level budget end, you get what you pay for n all that, My steel 501 Raleigh is over a kilo lighter and 26 years old.

Don't worry about the weight, my main commuter is 20kg when loaded and it's still great fun, especially when dropping someone on an S-Works road bike.
Now stop looking at it and go and wear out some components:tongue:.

@BSRU lol, I've done 420 miles on it since I bought it in July, I'd just got back from a 50+ miles ride and got caught in a monsoon so washed the bike & took a photo while it was clean. Weight I'm not too worried about, the range of gears was most important to me living in a hilly area, going 3x10 was the best thing (2x8 - 42/52 x 11/26 standard) I did go 3x8 then 3x10, Was it worth converting a cheap bike? financially it was the cheapest way of getting a new 30 speed, it has transformed how the bike rides it is like riding a different bike.

Money well spent then!

I've always liked the look of the Carrera TdF colour scheme since it came out a few years ago. Yellow is my favourite colour. It sounds like you've done your bike up to an excellent standard.

Yesterday I was playing around with the bikes, I fitted the wheels off of my Raleigh, they are aftermarket wheels, the Wheelset cost just £75 Weinmann XR18 rims with a Shimano RM30 rear hub and Quando front hub, I weighed the bike before and after and to my amazement thebike weighed 600g less than it did the stock Carrera wheels
