Courtesy of the very excellent http://www.bikehike.co.uk i've mapped my route to work. Its not gonna mean much to anyone else, i admit, but here it is: http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=23085.
There's a bloody big hill at the start that i've, in time, grown to love (funnily enough
). Near the top is a little plaque to Edvard Munch, painter of 'The Scream'
.
Only ride it 2 or 3 days a week tbh cos my job is quite physical. Past 6 weeks my back has been knackered (sciatica) so, the times i've been to work, i've used the local 'citybikes' for the 10 mins to the train station.
Really enjoy the route. About 1/3 off-road so use a mtb and best time is 1hr 2m 17s for the 14/15 miles. (Just got a Jake The Snake so hope to bring that down when me flamin back improves!)
Cant help thinking tho' that you London cyclists are either seriously hard-core or just b***** masochists! But there again, i'm intending on riding to work on snow/ice in -10/-15C. Horses for courses, innit?!
