Sorry - click the menu icon (the one with 3 bars in the top right), then go to Tools, then Extensions. If there's anything you don't recognise, get rid of it.
Thanks - found I have 2 I recognise (Like Google Docs) and 3 called:
NexCoUap PricECheop and prricechop
Would they be suspicious? Don't want to delete anything that could be useful!

Bin 'em. Not suspicious, but they will chuck advertising into your browser.

WHo knows, I think CHrome automtaically updates so I doubt if you're running a different version. Do you not see the same dropdown as my screen grab?

Either way, back to teh OP, I would recommend clearing the cached data as it could be something in there.

I must admit I followed Mark's instructions and found it, so it seemed to work for me. Finally spoke to Mr Summerdays (he wasn't answering his phone earlier and he's the technological one in this household), and apparently he was trying to sort out something yesterday and downloaded a Modem driver after which he noticed that he had the pop ups, he thought he had cleared them but obviously not from my account.

Thanks everyone for your help, I tend to worry about viruses and wanting to avoid them.
