Getting 'massively drunk' isn't big and it isn't clever. I find it best to keep it to once a decade.

What makes it big and clever once a decade?

There's no harm in getting wasted every so often, especially not on a significant birthday. Spiking people's drinks is not on, but with any luck, Darkstar's mates have learnt not to do it again. Glad you're ok.

Oh and thank you to the people who responded in a polite manor, i appreciate it.
As for those who seem to be shocked and disgusted people get drunk on their 21st birthday, then you just provided me with the exact responses i was expecting to receive from this place! I bet none of you have ever been drunk before, if so, please go back to reading the Guardian.

Being drunk is fine once and a while, being so drunk and incapable that you put yourself in danger and require medical assistence is not. Hopefully you've learnt that lesson now and maybe you'll pursuade your so called 'mates' not to be tossers too. On the positive side, you drink Real-Ale, so there's hope for you yet
Pass the Telegraph please...

Glad you're ok Darkstar and please heed the advice and learn a lesson (your mates too!!!). It could have turned out a lot worse - I once saw someone nearly choking on their own vomit after 'harmless' sneaky spiking.

ps - learn to take your drink too, ya big wuss!!!!

Glad you're okay darkstar; I'm not sure about the comments that are overly critical of you. Getting stupidly drunk, spiked drinks or not, is a normal part of growing up. There are many occasions that I could have done myself an injury when younger, we learn from mistakes, better than from criticism.

I'm not sure about holier than thou, but straight forward passing-on of sage advice. Drinking to incapability unfortunately (as you mention) leads to death from vomiting, hypothermia, RTA's, drownings and other tragic and needless deaths, let alone the other costs to society from drunkeness, violence etc. I don't think anybody expects puritanism on the drinking-front. We probably all get drunk once in a while, but the trick is to do it in a way where nobody's gonna get hurt. Learning when you've had enough and having decent mates to look after you on your big night out, rather than make you incapable are both good things!

Cheers!

dropped to 32 degrees last night, was out for my birthday and got massively drunk. Paramedics were called and took the temperature. Pretty scary stuff, considering i can't remember anything. My mates sorted it all out thankfully otherwise i would have been a goner.

I don't have that problem, my birthday is on the 4th July

There is a young man, who went to school with my Daughter and whose Parents live a few doors away, has been missing for over three weeks after a drinking spell in Bath.

Hope you took a hat, scarf, gloves and a decent coat with you? Its OK getting drunk as long as your warm, but if you haven't got any of the above with you because its uncool to wear them then your stupid.

There was a guy who had a skin full, he decided to walk home after a night out without a coat, he was found dead the next day with hypothermia.

That is why I don't understand why people go out in freezing weather wearing nothing but a thin belt.:biggrin:

Is it? Where do you get that from? Doesn't this attitude condone binge drinking and all the problems that go along with it?
