I've got Altura waterproof overshoes which do the job if you're clipless. If you have toeclips (I have on my commuter) so I'm in 'sodden-foot' mode.

I cycled in shorts and w/p overcoat this morning. Much more refreshing!

I an the Aldi man when it comes to cycling gear BUT their over shoes are as much use as a chocolate tea pot!!!
This morning it was raining quite hevily and I might as well not have been wearing them.
I will be investing in another brand soon.
As for cycling in the rain, just do it:smile:

Horrible and cold today though, Had winter coat on and shorts although the shorts are a bad idea as they get wet, soak through and then your thighs freeze.
Next time it will be lycra then shorts maybe 1/2 way home if i get too cold.

Got home in the sun and the saddle was steaming !

I also have to say that mud guards are the best £14 I ever spent on my bike, Must get a mud flap though.

Fronts and rears ?
Don't get a problem with spray tbf but I imagine if there is lots of standing water it's an issue. For once hills are useful.

My shopping list of wants for the my bike just keeps getting bigger!!!

I think I can live without mud gaurds for a while though, esp with summer kind of being here now. I'm more bothered about the wet feet today, the rest of me was fine. I had a look at some waterproof socks on my lunch break in blacks. They seemed ok but very expensive. I think im liking the idea of some over shoes better though. Will pop into my LBS soon and see what they have got.

Thanks for the replys

Guys can waterproof socks be worn all year round or are they too hot?
