This morning was the first time I commuted into work on my pushbike! I usually take the car if it's wet, or a motorbike if it's sunny, so today "should" have been a motorbike day!
I started cycling in March, with a view to commuting, but I wanted to get my fitness level up slightly first! It's only about a 7 mile each way commute (most of which is downhill in the morning!), but I didn't want to arrive at work *too* out of breath and sweaty! Also of course, downhill in the morning means uphill in the evening. I've been cycling pretty much every evening for the last could of months, and from not being able to cycle more than a mile without feeling like I was about to die, I now usually do about 10 miles in the evenings, sometimes more at the weekends (26 miles on Sunday for example).
I know these mileage figures are pathetic for most of you "proper" cyclists, but no matter, I'm still proud!!
Errm, so, that's it really. Still got the up-hill journey home to look forward to of course, but the funny thing is that I am quite looking forward to it!
