My keyboard has changed

I dunno wot I done, nothing intentional, but it seems to have subtly changed.
Shift + 3 used to give me a pound symbol but now gives a #
# now gives me a \
Alt Gr + e used to be an e accent ecu

Any idea how to get back to what presumably was the original default setting?

Have you tried switching off then back on again?

You have US keyboard settings by the sound of it.

I'm not up to speed on modern MS Windows but go to control panel and look for keyboard settings or system settings or similar and change to UK.

I tried that! I'll try again after I've switched it off and on

Assuming you're on Windows, the language has changed to Merkin. Under settings (or control panel on an older PC), there'll be a language setting where you can select English (UK).

If memory serves, there is a combination of keys which is quite easy to press accidentally and which changes the language to English (US).

If memory serves, there is a combination of keys which is quite easy to press accidentally and which changes the language to English (US).

Which will randomly insert 'z's where 's's should be and deletes all the u's and l's !! Neanderthals, those septics

On windows 10 you can just click bottom right next to the time , should say ENG for English keyboard.
