Thanks guys.

Here is the elevation on the way home. Not a huge climb, but a few short sharp hills in there. It should be good training for my 190 mile ride in the summer .

(It doesn't include the Clyde Tunnel climb)

Shouldn't be too bad over 11 miles

Kinda jealous as well. I've a choice of 4 miles (with train) or 26 miles (sans train and with 550m of climbing) each way. 11 miles hits the sweet-spot for day-in, day-out commuting.

What's this about 190 miles?

This was the profile of my 12 mile commute. Looks worse than it was, apart from one hill on the way out in the morning.

It'll get you fit Maggers, no slacking now.

Lucky you (oh to be young again!).

I used to do a 10 mile e/w commute when I worked near Brighton, but it was only fair-weather though. Now: my employers are looking to re-locate and at the same time I'm nearing retirement. Still wondering what'll come first. It may be a longer commute than my present 2 miles e/w, but I don't know what I can manage... I'm sure 5 or 6 miles won't be a problem, so somewhere like Haywards Heath would suit me.

I laugh at your elevations, living out here in Kent. Welsh commuters can probably laugh at the both of us.

Aye, if I want to extend it to 30 odd miles I can add a few 1000 feet climbs! One for the summer maybe!

10/10 for observation skills there Bollo!

My top tip for that distance is not to try and wash your arse with an alcohol-based gel straight afterwards. I looked remarkably like this ->

We have had the removal firm in today packing for us. During a conversation with one of them, he said:

'You're that chap on the bike with the helmet camera, aren't you?'

Oh oh! I'm now a bit conerned where all my home contents might end up!

Actually to be fair the chap was very nice and said he enjoyed my videos.

My wife just put on her usual expression....

Now there is an idea...

One day, maybe one day you might just manage through gritted teeth, manage to say the words....

'Magnatom bought me a pint, I think I owe him one'

Go on try it!
