My LBS has been demolished!

It's my nearest, I visited today and the local authority people had come with a JCB in the early morning and flattened it. Not only his shop but everybody on the site.

It is built under overhead high tension lines so nothing is allowed underneath. That's the reason for the demolition but I was told by the owner it's the rich people who complain who live nearby and that's why they come. They have no right to be there as they are just squatters. Sad all the same, they're just trying to scrape a living.
I've promised him a contribution for the rebuild.

Did he at least get his stock/tools/spares out before the council moved in?

Yes he did. He managed to put his stock in an old car
