Well I've been threatening to do it all year. My commute to work is a round trip of 62 miles by car. I often split the journey by driving half way and cycling the rest along a coastal cycle path. I always wanted to give the full distance a go. As I'm leaving my job in the New Year it was soon or never.

Yesterday I did it. Took me 2 Hrs 20 mins to get in and 3 hours to get home and was harder than I thought.

Feel quite smug with myself but I wont be rushing to do it again in a hurry!!

I was actually very surprised how considerate the majority of car drivers were, but there were one or two who were too close for comfort.

Route was Mold to St Asaph on the A541, St Asaph via Betws yn Rhos to Dolwen then down to Old Colwyn.

A lovely route with some great views down towards the sea, sunny weather helped to make it a really good trip, just a pity about work in the middle ;)

Well; done sadjack! Please try again - maybe next job the road names will make sense to 'us Londoners'

I know the area - good on you.

Just before I left my last job, I started doing the 65 ,mile round trip once a week from work although much flatter than yours.... then got the job nearer home..whoo..

It is a hell of a long day doing that commute, but once a week is do-able for a while.......

I dont think I'll be doing it once a week. Its a long day. Saturday was perfect weather too. Just had to do it once......

I'm leaving my current job in a couple of months, new office will be much nearer, 20 miles round trip so I'm looking forward to that.

Hats off to you fossyant, 65 miles once a week takes some doing.

Puts my 6.5 - 10 miler round commute to shame, well done (not so) sadjack and fossyant.
