My aunt died a few years ago, and her son gave a eulogy at the funeral. He said that the word which he applied to his mum was "never":
Never put yourself first
Never complain, no matter what life throws at you
Never expect "the authorities" or "the council" or anyone else to give you anything for free
and so on

It sounds like your mum came from the same stock......

I look around these days and I really feel that so many of the older generation are simply irreplaceable.

The loss of someone as caring, wonderful people that were beacons of what we all could aspire to being, is a loss thathe whole Community should lament
