Mine is different in that the gearing is on a separate hub,

which has a 6 speed freewheel controlled by a Shimano derailleur

And a sprocket welded to the hub flange that transmits drive to the rear axle

To finish this off, I sold the Tracer yesterday & bought a Pashley TR1 folding trike with 7 gears & a special seat. See pics.

Please take this as help - not criticism of technique

At 1:20 there is a "dismount" whilst the cycle is moving

On a trike this can cause problems as the pedals and rear frame are still travelling

This in turn can cause injury

It is better practice to remain on the pedals until the trike is stopped.

That was my wife's first 30 seconds on a trike, I'm thinking of buying her a conventional folder which she has ridden before. I'll tell her what you've said.

As I said, I am not being critical.

My MiL had a bad leg wound when she did this and the pedal scraped down her calf. As you know when you get older these do not heal quickly
