You're a barrel of laughs, aren't you? I suppose that copper in The Phantom Raspberry Blower Of Old London Town saying, ''Ere, I want a word with you!'' wasn't funny either?

It wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now.

What's the point of recycling jaded material from the past apart from demonstrating the ability to cut and paste or misquote?

Jaded? Cut and paste? Misquote? Jeez, Vern, lighten up already...you're not dead yet!

I have been known to smirk.

Some of the original stuff was funny but where's the added value in spraying random snippets of it about?

I have too many friends who think that it's obligatory for their 'audience' to paralysed with laughter upon hearing them repeat chunks of Python and the Goons over the past forty years to find other instances of it tiresome.

And yes some of the original stuff is jaded and hasn't passed the test of time. Even so, I'd rather watch/listen to repeat broadcasts of the original material and quite often I do on Radio Four Extra.
