The first pic is the important one!! Do you think that is acceptable, the seat post is about 11/2 inch below the frame!!

That’s perfectly normal. That looks like a nice bike, it could do with a deep clean, but it’s all there.

Have you got a photo of the complete bike?

Is there anything 'special' to wash it down with??
It's a very nice looking bike, congratulations :-)

I don't use anything special on my Brompton, just a bucket of warm soapy water and an old cloth. Don't forget to clean and re-oil the chain afterwards and lubricate (sparingly) the cables.

You can tell!!! 2004!! Will def do the rear frame clip, feels strange, lifting it and wheel is still on the ground. Shopping On-line tomorrow!!!!!

Ok, it is a MK4 then, not a MK3 - even better. And true - I overlooked the MK4 main frame hinge. As we do have a contuously growing collection of serials and frame numbers in the German Bromton forum that is still a bit thin regarding numbers of early MK4 models from 2004: Would you mind telling me the serial and frame number of your's for the collection (as still has the serial sticker on the seatpost which often got missing over time). PM me if you like! Would be very appreciated.
