My new Giant TCX 1  Went in with the best of intentions to buy the TCX 2 and well... you know how it goes... LBS knocked £120 off and changed the stem and bar tape (fancied blue) for free  Somehow it weighs the exact same as the road bike despite the extra gubbins, so I think the road bike is getting sold pretty soon!

Very nice:thumbsup:

Thanks Lesley, how do you find them on the bike as I always though road bikes had smooth tyres or is that not necessarily true?

It's a cyclocross bike, not a true road bike. I was seriously surprised by how quick it is given the size of the tyres (700x32c) and the fact they are knobbly and not slick. It's going to fly when I put road tyres on in summer.

The road bike was a specialized secteur comp, which ironically was more expensive than this, even at the non discounted price, just shows you money isn't always the best indicator of weight anyway. Where I'm living now I really needed something that could handle a bit of everything. I've not had the Giant out on a proper hurl, have that joy tomorrow morning. Going to throw it down the canal path and see how it handles it

I had a tcx 1 and it was the best bike I've had upto now. It's good to see they've realised that canti's are rubbish and put v's on as standard.

I only got rid because I didn't realise the forks were carbon....I have a serious phobia of carbon bikes and bits.

I must admit, going down the rough surface of the canal path this morning I was glad I had the carbon forks, I think the alu of the TCX 2 would have been bone juddering.

The brakes on this are fantastic. Where I'm cycling dogs can be quite unpredictable and having fantastic brakes has been a godsend. Also the extra brake levers on the tops are really handy.

Really miss my granny ring though!!! :heat:

Yes of course, a £5k Scott genius ltd had a manufacturing fault. I broke my eye sockets and wrists, I didn't know or could not have possibly known (only an X-ray would have showed it) there was a de lamination fault.
