Apparently it gets easier (per child) the moire children you have.

Going from 0 -> 1 child is a real shock.
Going from 1 -> 2 children is difficult.
Going from 2 -> 3 children isn't too bad.
Going from 3 -> 4 children is OK.

This is according to an aunt with 4 kids (now aged 21-25).
Not sure if this rule scales well - you'd have to ask one of the really BIG families (e.g the Duggar Family, had 16 kids last time I saw them on the telly, but apparently they've got a book out entitled "20 and counting":ohmy: )

Oh well then, maybe I should be considering a 4th....;)

How old will your second child be when their new sibling arrives?

My oldest will be 4 and a half and the youngest will be 2 and a half. The boys get on really well at the moment, so I hope the dynamic doesn't change too much with the new arrival.

Actually my wife is encouraging me to go in for a sportive in August (in Blackpool), I'll be doing the PfS in September and I am already booked up for the Etape Caledonia next year! The grandparents will be shipped in when required!

I hear the third is easy. Please someone come along and tell me the third is easy. Please?!?!

It is - my pals have done the Etape Caledonia and said that it really wan't that bad at all.....

You know with all this time you've been spending on the bike, are you sure it's............................................healthy to leave your wife and kids so much.

What did you think I was going to say?

Ha! I knew questions of paternity would come up. I'm definitely the dad, I've never managed 189 miles in a week yet so my swimmers are good to go

Congrats. But is it a good idea to let them outnumber you? You will also need a car with three windows in the back. For parenting tips just watch the Sky1 re-runs of Malcolm in the middle.

Congrats Mr and Mrs Magnatom. With the age differences between them does this mean you've got it all sussed out for hand me downs

A childhood friend of mine used to get his older sisters knickers handed down instead of buying him undies. I wonder how he turned out?

Isn't too bad, oh my aching sides  Good luck Mags, you will need it

What isn't to bad is the operation to stop 3 becoming 4

Yeah, I did point out this wasn't my opinion based on my experience ...
I'm currently eagerly awaiting my 2nd (officially due on Monday), so so far can only vouch for the 0->1 transition.

I originally wanted a big family, 4 or 5. I have since decided that 3 will be plenty, and may yet decide 2 is fine:biggrin:
