I have had my office tea mug with me for over 20 years, it was bought for me as a leaving present in 1989, it's followed me to various jobs...and woe-betide anyone who dares use it for themselves or others. It still looks as good as new. How sad is that?

I'm currently using my Whipsnade zoo mug,with a 50p England one on stand-by in case of breakage,working in engineering things don't tend to last that long.

Where I worked a while back, someone lost their mug, and sent emails round sixty or so staff in the office. anyway, some joker picked up on this, found the mug, and sent various randsom emails with photos of the mug in various locations.

Herewith mine; only nine years vintage - was a present from my son and displays the logo of the website he developed with his friend Paul, for all their school friends etc, raves, holidays, parties etc. As honorary old fogey, I was awarded a mug!
As an aside, I only started posting on it because Paul's Dad was 'Lord John'. I thought he was way to smug and started posting as 'Earl Etorise'.

We once had a whip-round and presented an engraved beer-mug to a departing colleague. Then the ****er decided, he didn't like his new job if you please, and he came back. Didn't hand back the mug though ....

I've got a Moominpappa mug like this one:
The handle got broken off about five years ago, but I superglued it back on and it's stayed stuck since then. i bought it in Helsinki airport when I was stuck there once. My Tip Of The Day is: don't get stuck in Helsinki airport.
Strangely enough I did exactly the same - I bought this one for Mrs 3BM from Helsinki airport, she's still using it and it's her fave mug.
Going there again tomorrow for work, might get some more for the kids this time!

Admirable choice 3BM. Tove Jansson seems a very interesting person, and her various efforts deserve credit. She wrote 'grown up' stories as well as the Moomin stuff...I still have an original somewhere, I think.

Yes, threetrollsmcginty, I read the summer holiday one - and also bought them all for my sister last year as she was the one who read me Moomin the first time around (when I was 46 3/4)
