thank you all for compliments! here's a pic of Jens K, a chap i rode last few stages with:

I met him before the last PBP - he didn't finish because he'd recently been injured and hadn't recovered. Attempting PBP led to complications, and the insurance wouldn't cough up for his repatriation and treatment.

I met him again the following year in Italy, where he got that jersey. Pictures here and (after 1600 km) here
