An 18 mile ride on the single speed MTB today, mostly bridleways, the ground was so dry in places there were 2inch gaps which isn't ideal with 1.9inch tyres ! I did have to resort to pushing on some of it as it was too rough, would have been ideal on the full suspension e-MTB but where's the challenge in that! Ride powered by a Cornetto and a bag of Tangfastics.

Nice eats !! 👌

*One of my riding buddies is a bit of a Nutrition freak. And always tells me how he’s fueled for the ride, how much protein today’s snacks contain etc.

So last ride I prepped; by going into Town and buying a big bag of Pink Percy pig sweets. And a 3 foot long jelly snake.

The look on his face when we both reached into our jersey for snacks on the go was priceless 🤣

Excellent! I often take jam sandwiches and sweets to keep me fuelled if it's an all day ride, I find most of the specialist sports nutrition upset my guts, (slow release = indigestible) back in the 60's my mum used to send me off with a duffel bag of sandwiches, bag of crisps (with the twist of blue paper for the salt) and half a crown to buy some fizzy pop.

Oh I sometimes eat well on the bike (Fruit, nuts, protein bars blah blah). But also aren’t averse to chocolate, sweets, mini eggs or pork pies 💪

My mantra is - I’m burning / earning these calories. So I’ll eat what I dam well enjoy 😁

**Salt-n-shake crisps rocked !!! Your Mum clearly knew her sh*t 😎
