Look what someone did to two lovely Weeping Willow trees. One of our favourite butty stops.

They've been Pollarded: it's a method of tree management which does look a bit drastic immediately after the event, but the tree will recover and grow lots of thin branches, which can then be harvested repeatedly.

I'm glad I left my bike at the bottom 😂

Yes, I forget the name of the street but it was quite close to McCaig's tower.

There is a whole labyrinth of streets up there, all a good test of low gears and brakes, depending on direction!

I was probably the youngest guest in the youth hostel in Castlebay yesterday, and I'm pushing 50!

Young people don't seem to stay in them any more.
