When I was 18 I started my adult cycling life on a steel framed bike, 3 speed Sturmey Archer, rim brakes : 50 years on and the same spec bike will probably see me out - It is a lovely stable and smooth ride, the Brooks Flyer saddle irons out the bumps and the gentle ticking from the SA hub is hypnotic.

Looks solid, but under the crust you'd probably be calf deep in mud!

A surviving diesel railcar from the old CDR railway on a preserved railway, although they seem to have constructed something else to pull it. It should power itself with a Gardner diesel. I had to chase after it to take this photo. Howany cyclists can say they outran a train today...
