I'm thinking of eating them through a straw....

Seriously though, my removal method will render them capable of being eaten through a straw though a BB date of May 2012 makes their consumption unlikely.

I completely understand.

I think you'd get on with one of my favourite neighbours, a former county fire chief. He wanted to get rid of the moles in his garden, so he dropped a petrol-soaked rag down each hold, waited a bit for the fumes to penetrate, then dropped in a lighted match. The ensuing series of whooshing flares nearly took out his garage.

He says all firemen are pyromaniacs at heart. I think if I'd have made a brilliant fireman, used to light fires all the time as a child *wistful expression*.

"Bush engineering" at its very best. He's a hugely talented guy. I don't like the delivery but it really is a joy to see somebody actually making something rather than just poncing about with words.

You'd love my mate, he is currently rebuilding (actually pretty much rebuilt) a 1920's Ner-a-Car http://bodgesoc.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/1921-ner-car.html which had involved building a lot of stuff from scratch.
