Good to hear you came through ok, must have been quite a fright. Luckily there were some good people around to help, a reminder that we should always be looking out for our fellow cyclists.
Imagine how much worse it could have been had you been wearing a skid lid and the bug had got trapped inside.I'm going to phone the bloke who's got my bike later and arrange to collect it. I got a comment of the paramedic because I was helmetless.

Been there, done that. Only mild (ie hysterical) panic on my part.Imagine how much worse it could have been had you been wearing a skid lid and the bug had got trapped inside.

I'd wait til you looked a bit less like Leslie Ash.I picked up my bike dinner time, I was 46 miles in when it happened, I would have been close to 60 miles if I'd finished the ride. I'll have to do the ride again and finish it at some point.
Sorry to read that I hope you are ok by now.My ride today, hmmm! Brought to a premature end about an hour from home by an insect. I
got stung on the lip by a flying stinging insect, I felt it brush my lip then realized I’d been stung. Ten minutes later I was stopped at the roadside and had to get a passing cyclist to phone an ambulance, it arrived promptly but by then I could barely walk, after being treated in the ambulance I was taken to warwick hospital and monitored for the afternoon once the symptoms had subsided enough I was allowed home with a couple of boxes of pills, I was picked up by my stepson and Good Lady. My bike was left with a local resident to be picked up later in the week.
My thanks must be extended to the cyclist who stopped, I'm very thankful for that. My thanks also go to the Ambulance crew and the hospital, I cant fault them in any way they were excellent.
Up to then I had been having a good ride, started out early, about half eight, for a ride to Kineton and varied my route, the other side of Harbury instead of going straight on at the junction I turned left into Bishops Itchington then right and left in Bishops Itchington through knightscote then right at the t Junction then right into Pimple Lane and then straight on onto Church Lane through Gaydon and onto Kineton. I started back on my usual route through Lighthorn to Chesterton then I turned left and right past the Chesterton Windmill then right and on through Harbury to pick up my usual route home, after I’d passed the Fox and Hen I turned right onto the Welsh Road heading for Offchurch instead of going straight on. I got stung riding into Offchurch, I crossed the main road and rode down through the village but by that time I was not feeling good and abandoned just the other side.
