superb pics , and it looked like a great trip , any info on how many miles and how long it took , i,d love to do something along the same lines , and how did u manage to limit ur luggage , i vent away for a 2 day trip last summer and looked like i took a whole lot more :ohmy: .... any tips pls

Hi all, glad you liked the pics - thanks!

ASC1951 - the camera is Nikon D700.

HLaB - actually, the weather was fabulous most of the time, out of 14 days it rained on and off for two days only.

sleekitcollie - the whole trip took 14 days/13 nights, with 10 days riding/3 days off (friends living in Prestonpans joined me for the weekends, so I took more days off than I would have otherwise). I rode about 980km, longest day was 130km, shortest 35km. Luggage weight was 20kg (7kg of those was photo gear - it is a heavy camera, especially with the AA battery pack, plus I took several lenses and a tripod).
