Granted, l’ve had them for about 10 years & they’ve commuted (essentially) ‘365’

The right is separating at the instep

I guess all those winters of road-salt has got to them at last?

They had a good paddle/muddy walk yesterday as l ran out of traction

I’m considering these;

Or, do l have a trip to Decathlon at Sheffield, or even the Wakefield branch of ‘Go Outdoors’ (still known as ‘Mitchells’ to the locals) to see what they have?

I had the same thing happen but have managed to get a few more years out of mine by regluing them. Make sure that everything is clean and dry before doing it.

I use them on my turbo trainer now. It saves me carting my other shoes up and down the stairs to the pain cave, and I don't have to worry about the repair potentially failing on an outdoor ride, hours from home!

My last pair of Spesh Pro Carbon shoes fell to bits, well the ratchet strap's plastic that's sewn to the shoe cracked with age. Shoes were in great condition, but old.

It's worth seeing what Decathlon (Eyre St) have got. A lot of their own brand Van Rysel is pretty good quality if you're not into your labels.

For what its worth i would get some cheap neoprene overshoes then buy new boots in the spring sales when retailers are looking to get rid of them. TBH you've had your monies worth out of them.

Mine went across the heel of the sole, cracked in half, same model as yours,
Thankfully was on the ferry home from a trip, to a parked car,
Unrepairable , regretfully had to junk them, Sidi shoes were the best I ever had, if I was a one legged cyclist probably could still use the good one!
