Me and my youngest daughter (14) just been to watch my 10 y/o lad on stage at the New Theatre Oxford in the touring version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He's kinda the lead Sewer kid and kicks off (with a solo) the singing of 'Teamwork' by the sewer kids.
Biased I may be, but I was truly surprised at his confidence and singing voice on stage. At the end he was beaming like the Cheshire cat, and I had tears of pride rolling down my cheeks. He's done 2 performances today and he's still full of beans. If performing isn't part of his future life I'd be very surprised. He'd started 2 weeks at Stagecoach when the auditions came along so he achieved what most of his peers failed to do on gusto and natural talent I guess. Time will tell.
Such are the moments when the pains and hardship of parenting becomes oh so worth it.

Signed
A proud Dad.

Nice one
I felt similar watching my daughter run for the county :?:

:bravo:Well done FF junior

Nothing better than watching them perform in front of others but it is nerve racking I find. Watched son no.2, 10, play a tin whistle introductory solo jig in front of an audience of 200 at a concert and all I could concentrate on was whether he'd hit the notes and got the timing right, my palms were sweaty.

well done! Does he have an agent?

(that, by the way, is a half-serious question. The Kid has just got an agent, but she should have done it years ago)
