MyWhoosh vs Zwift

Without a smart trainer that includes a power meter, you are only ever getting rough guesstimates from any of the apps.

Indeed although I tried doubling my weight on whoosh just in case it was getting metric and imperial a bit mixed up and it didn't make a lot of difference

I'm really not sure that you ever were.

Got a second hand smart trainer now so im a bit closer to real world values
Tried a group ride and it looked like there were only a couple of real people , the rest were bots .With no sound and lack of riders im tempted to go back to zwift as currently not spending money on cake stops .

I think it's "free ride". My guess is that "free ride" is the simplest way of using a turbo with one of these training apps and it doesn't need fancy features. So he's paid for features that he doesn't use.

What really baffles me is the catchphrase. "Save counselling for real problems, save it for the good stuff".

What does this mean? Counselling isn't for small problems like having a turbo training subscription that you're dissatisfied with. Counselling is for when you have "good stuff". Huh?

Brilliant I knew a guy who paid 12 months for Zwift and went in free ride every time pushing 130 watts. Pointless waste of time & money.
He could have used a free app like Mywhoosh.

No it isn't.

MyWhoosh and Roovy are a completely different experience to Zwift.

Some people prefer the realistic video of MyWhoosh or Rouvy, others prefer the cartoon type feeling of Zwift.

It isn't a waste if that is the style they prefer.

He just free rode and didn’t make use of the features but the Indian guy in the advert wasn’t happy. The guy I knew could have just pootled around outside in zone 1 & a bit of 2.
Which is what he did after cancelling.

After tyring to get mywhoosh to work over the last couple of weeks it managed to work properly once as it would detect my trainer but when it came to riding i would not move even though in the detect page it would register watts when i was pedalling .I dont want to spend all my time trying to get it to work so went back to zwift today and it connected instantly and worked flawlessly , well the only glitch was the fact my fitness is a bit rubbish !

I've been using MyWhoosh recently on our old ~2015 Surface Pro 4 and my Poco F3 mobile, at 100% gradient feel I was finding my avatar wouldnt move every now and again, I can only presume due to CPU is being overwhelmed by terrain data.

In workout mode, my avatar moved fine.

MyWhoosh is amazing. Some people pay to train indoors. I’m not some people. I save money for the good stuff.
If you get a higher end pc or laptop it’s graphically brilliant compared to Zwift.

amd ryzen 5 5500 radeon graphics, its not being taxed my whoosh simply is not doing anything with the data it is receiving as it can see the power in the pairing screen

I am going to try a samsung tablet i have too see if that works next time , you never know as i have always found mywhoosh to be a bit flaky for my set up .
