So...the endowment that's just matured won't get anywhere near paying the mortgage off and YOLO (as my teenage daughter keeps telling me
) so, after looking at various exotica and being extremely impressed by Enigma frames, and a Trek Madone 5.9 with Di2, an element of common sense kicked in and I'm now the owner of this:
At about half the price of the others it almost seems sensible!
My first carbon framed bike, by far the lightest bike I've ever owned and I suspect, a lot quicker than I am. I'm now in the process of tinkering with it prior to the first ride - hopefully tomorrow morning, but I'm not going out on it if it's raining as I understand that carbon dissolves if it gets wet
