So...the endowment that's just matured won't get anywhere near paying the mortgage off and YOLO (as my teenage daughter keeps telling me) so, after looking at various exotica and being extremely impressed by Enigma frames, and a Trek Madone 5.9 with Di2, an element of common sense kicked in and I'm now the owner of this:
At about half the price of the others it almost seems sensible!
My first carbon framed bike, by far the lightest bike I've ever owned and I suspect, a lot quicker than I am. I'm now in the process of tinkering with it prior to the first ride - hopefully tomorrow morning, but I'm not going out on it if it's raining as I understand that carbon dissolves if it gets wet
