A friend of mine is a huge Olivia Newton-John fan, I mean huge, as in he used to run the fan club! Hard to get your head around somehow.

I will admit to once having having the Xanadu album! I was young, it was rubbish.

Can't think of naff film music that I hate but I love this! I have this 12'' here and twenty-five years later I still think it's great :0) Smashing bass line which is lost on the PC speakers though:

Film music to cringe to ... plenty of choice there!

What comes to my reluctant mind, just at present, is The Sandpiper (1965) with its incessant, jazzy, twee and mock-sentimental soundtrack pervading, in true Hollywood style, the entire movie and utterly mismatching the actual plot...

...whatever the plot was. I don't remember now, except that it has Burton/Taylor in it doing their usual stuff...

together in electric dreams !!!! brilliant song

Just had to go and play it! :0) Hard to believe it's so old! Eighties music gets slagged off a lot but there was a lot more energy and variety in the charts back then.

Tell you what, those 12" single things don't half sound good! Dynamics and bass power to die for, real speaker breakers.
