Other than the obvs:
1. My phone - mainly for the camera but it can come in handy if there is an emergency. NB: I cycled myself into trouble once and I was in such a remote place that I couldn't get a phone signal. I've since learned not to rely on mobile phones in an emergency situation.
2. Spare Cash - for a latte and a muffin or something
3. My GPS watch - I'm a stats junkie
