Congratulations, just come back from a sabbatical and missed this thread. Whatever you call her, if she doesn't like it, it's only a few years before she can alter it by deed poll.

My daughter legally and by her own choice when she was 13 has gone from Alex Grace to Grace Florance.

It all stemmed from a naughty boy in her primary school class called Alex too.

So in short call her something that she can't be transgendered by :smile:

Just remember, the registration of the birth, and therefore of her official name, only requires the presence of one parent ;).

That is so true. My father visited my mother in hospital soon after I was born when they hadn't finished choosing a name. She greeted him with 'About that name, Alison, I've been thinking...' My father replied 'It's too late, I registered it on the way here.'
