On my 11 mile commute from Ealing to St Paul's between 6:30 and 7:30 this morning how many cyclists did I see?
(Oh it was overcast with occasional spitting).

One hundred and eleven!!! I'll be doing other ad hoc surveys over the coming weeks, in order to pass the dull minutes between traffic lights...

What sort of numbers do you see on your commute?

Today on an 18 mile commute from Orpington to Greenwich I saw a massive amount of 4 other cyclists. This inclement weather sure keeps the fairweather cyclists off the road. Bleedin' lightweights.

Overtook 2 cyclists. Saw two coming in the other direction. On a 6 mile commute. Even three of my regular passing acquaintances were missing today. I feel so lonely at the moment.

And it was a good day - dry with a following wind.

I'm not sure excatly, but approx 200. One day I'll watch all 55mins of my commute and count each cyclist, but I'm not quite that sad yet.

Thought about starting new thread, but this forum seems to like long threads so here goes... TRAFFIC LIGHTS...

On my 11 mile commute from Ealing to St Paul's between 6:30am and 7:30am (not that the time is relevant), where I have seen 111 other cyclists, how many sets of traffic lights did I have to navigate?

Go have a guess, I'll tell you around lunch time.

I've done the new commute four times now - 27 mile round trip, takes me about an hour each way at the mo (feels really feeble...but my old commute I now realise was so flat!)

Anyway, four commutes in to work - cyclists seen: 0, 0, 0 and 0
Four commutes home from work - cyclists seen: 2 (together), 2 (separately), 2 (together), 1

One set of traffic lights (at a junction), three pedestrian crossings, one zebra crossing.
