So it says in the Guardian, which I'm reading at home on the internet.

"Today has been dubbed national sickie day, as apparently the first Monday in February is the day of the year when workers are most likely to call in sick"

I've never been one for originality.

I've been off sick from work twice for one day at a time with the flu in 20 years of working as an adult. Called in once another time as I got caught up at a wedding in Liverpool and partied again on the Sunday. Called in on the Monday morning as I was still pissed but took it as annual leave. Quite proud of that record!

Got a cold. One of those comedy colds that involve lots of sneezing and coughing. Probably wouldn't be popular if I went in.

Haven't been off for a while, I used to visit Morocco for one of the projects I worked on and I'd always be off sick the day after I got back.

With the squits.

If you ignore the 6 weeks I had off when I broke my arm (I didn't want to take a whole 6 weeks off - they made me), then I have only had one half day off ill in the last 3 years in this current job.
