The Dannebrog will be missing fom the peloton next year, yes.
On the other hand, I think he's going to take it to the Tour and the Vuelta this summer

Just found out that Megan Hughes (Zoë Backstedt's mum) was British road race champ in 1998.


That was probably on the commentary so no surprise.

I used to race with her regularly back in the 90s.

Yes it was, and that it's not the first daughter to win after her mother, with Denise Burton having won in 1976. As it says on wikipedia, "after Denise outsprinted her mother to the 1976 title, her mother refused to shake hands with her on the podium". Bet that was a fun family Christmas after!
