Well it's a shame that the genuine naturists are being denied because of the actions of a few people who don't know how to behave.
I'm a naturist. Well a lapsed one to be precise. As a family we used to be club members and spent many hours camping at clubs up and down the country. Wonderful places, usually with great sports facilities, friendly people and a very welcoming atmosphere. What's more, very safe places, especially for children.
I was never one for naturist beaches as such but used them a lot when on holiday abroad.
France has miles upon miles of naturist beaches, (hundreds of miles?) and somehow the country hasn't yet come to a grinding debauched halt because of it.

The British are astonishingly prudish when it comes to naked flesh, and as for the Americans...they've barely (hem hem) got past thinking that a glimpse of stocking is something shocking. I do wish we could be, in this as in various other things, a bit more continental. We seem so infantile sometimes.

I am not sure if it matters if you partake in it or not, the point I think stands out (!) is that we are all trying to engage in cycling, a minority interest that has some sections of the general population rounding on us and wanting us banned because they seem to not like us and want 100% of everything for themselves. Surely we should be the last group to do the same to another interest that is similarly persecuted.

True - We seem to be a lot more uptight about stuff like this than our European neighbours.

Indeed. I've just come back from Berlin, where there were nudists in the Tiergarten - in the centre of the city

My sister tells how, idly channel-flipping one mid-afternoon in Denmark, she suddenly found herself confronted by a close up of a sample of fine Danish manhood, in a state suggesting imminent vigorous exercise. After splashing herself with a handful or three of cold water, she mentioned it to her then fiance, who gave her a sort of 'and your point is?' shrug. It was just a schools educational programme; they're on all the time, no big deal.
