I switched off when Tennant took over. Thought he was far, far too silly in the role. Much preferred Eccleston in the role. He brought an adult quality to it, when Tennant was aimed squarely at the giggly-girlie fan base.

Watched for about 5 minutes, surely it should now be shown on cbbc.

From the brief glimpse all I could see was the BBC flogging a dying horse. The return with Ecclestone brought a grown up and slightly dark feel to the whole thing, but now it's heading off in the direction of Sylvester McCoy with the budget to match. I vote they park the whole thing for 10 years whilst they get a decent budget together and find some more original ideas.

Seemed perfectly all right to me. Most opening doctor stories are a bit weak/weird it's just people forget this over time:-
Tennant, New Earth - bit weak
Judas Ecclestone, Rose - quite good
McCoy, Time and the Rani - appalling
Baker, The Twin Dilemna, awful
Davison, Castrovalva - average and a bit weird and clunky
Baker, Robot - average
Pertwee, Spearhead from Space, quite good, felt distinctly weird

Prefer the Tardis interior, although I think they've exaggerated it a little. Glad they got rid of the black beauty theme music although I was getting used to it.

Highly amused by the kissogram PR job to fend off any complaints from the Mary Whitehouses of this world.

DT was rubbish. Sorry but couldnt stand him. Ecclescake was better. McCoy was underused and made a scapegoat for scrapping the show. What I like about this new guy is how he reminds me of McCoy.

Quite liked this new episode. It seemed more in line with the older Drs than the new series we've experienced.

Fave Docs were Troughton (who I watched on VHS), Pertwee and Baker (not Colon)

I said the same when Ecclestone went too,didn't have a clue who David Tennant was(though when I saw his picture thought he was the guy from 'silent witness')

Took me a long time to realise it wasn't him

It seemed ok though, nice, quirky character.

Yes - I had to deal with "What's a kissogram, Mummy?"

I thought it was probably an OK opening episode ... though I didn't like the way they kept going back to the fact he had changed ... the clothes, food, odd clutches at his body. (Can't remember the opening episodes of any of the other doctors as to whether they all went on in the same way). My youngest was pleased that he was the only one who knew in advance his sonic screwdriver would be green.

We will be watching again .... it's a program that the whole family can and wants to watch - there aren't too many of them around that appeal to the whole family.

When I was a lad I wanted them to do a more grown up and scary Dr Who to run parallel. Then they made Torchwood and I realised how wrong I had been.
