While I'm happy to agree that the cyclist in the original post was an idiot for jumping the red light against oncoming traffic, and that his lack of lights, hivis, helmet, shoes, and underwear had nothing to do with it, I do seem to recall the Highway Code advising that "green" means "go if the way is clear", not "go now, it is your divine right", so this story should serve as a cautionary tale to the OP to check what's approaching before moving off instead of getting distracted by sirens. Still, glad to hear nobody was hurt

with the no lights, no hi viz no anything else, it was pretty dam hard to see him, that's why I was shocked when he suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Bad back so can't cycle at mo', having to walk around office in a high-viz top so no one bumps into me.
