That Super tourist DX rack is not good engineering - creating a 90 degree cast foot onto which you load a lot of weight. Now that's a good idea ........... And it seems some of you have been trying to bend it or the stay to try to get it to fit better. It will eventually crack and fail due to vibration. The solution is to get a bike without disc brakes or one where the rear brake caliper is mounted forward of the seat stay and above the corresponding non drive chain stay. Or make yourself a stainless steel 3-4mm mounting plate to clear the rear brake caliper. Simples.
I think there is some confusion here.
The super tourist dx comes in two variations, one for disc braking and one for without disc brakes.
I don't think anyone here is bending the main support beams, only the thin horizontal brackets that attach near the seat. The instructions even state to do this so it isn't a problem.
I'm extremely happy with the super tourist DX and will be Purchasing another for my wife's bike also.
