Hey guys and gals

I'm new to the cycling community so thought I'd say hello . I'm primarily a runner but I'm looking to get into cycling aswell.

Looking to get a bike but I'm a bit lost on what to go for, I have looked at a few bikes but I don't no whats best for a beginner. I have cycled before but not for a number of years. Any advice?

Wow step away from those now! For £500 or thereabouts you could buy something brand new from a reptuable brand, take a look ay the specialized allez for example one of thr best known begginner bikes at that price range
b'twin triban is a very good bike too

^^^^+1 Look in bike shops near you, at least then you can get a proper look at them and get some good advice, Cheap bikes off T'internet are best avoided unless you are a competent bike mechanic and there is nothing more frustrating than a badly set up bike.

Your LBS will usually give you a discount bringing the price down close to the Internet. I always recommend mine as you get a good honest service and they have good after sales service, which is important when you're new to cycling.
Paying slightly more from your LBS is money well spent.
