Standard Alliance is how specialized refer to the approved exclusive dealerships (concept stores in the UK) as these suppliers follow specialized pricing structure

I meant if you knew the difference between that and retail?

How would someone in a similar situation to myself prove ownership? ;)

The new SL4 Roubaix is supposed to be the least sit up position and the stiffest yet. I quite fancy one the only trick Specilaized have missed on the Roubaix is mudguard mounts or a Roubaix only mudguard system. They promote is as a mile muncher, on miles I don't want wheel spray all over my back and feet!

Maybe push for a Garmin 800, they will trying to shift those, seems the main differnce is linking your phone to the 810

I had Cruds on mine. They worked fine for the most part.

800 is a good shout. I like the connected features of the 810, and I think I'd really regret being stuck with an 800. Some 800s are going for £150ish on eBay, so would probably get one there instead.

Cheers

No idea on the price differences.

You would prove ownership with a receipt or you would have filled out the warrenty details for specialized so they would also have a record

I always go to my lbs with the wiggle price in my head. When he offers me 10% off,i tell him the wiggle price and he knocks a bit more off. I pay even though it's a but more than wiggle, but this way i keep my lbs and he still makes a profit

Mine gave me 10% of the value of the bike I bought to spend in store on accessories - I didn't even have to ask, apparently it's what they do as standard.

I would be surprised if any small business was surviving on just 10% gross margins, the additional costs would not make it viable.

From a discount point of view, asking for goods rather than cash off will usually gain more. The dealer will have profit in the accessory, therefore (figures for example only) a £200 computer to you, may only cost the dealer say £150.

I always find open and friendly negotiation works best. As others have said, the worst they can do is say no.

Best regards

From a tactical point of view, I would get them to add up the full price of the order and ask for a discount off that sum.

Thus they don't need to be seen to be discounting a particular item, which might cause them difficulties with the supplier.

10% of what? If it's up for list price, then I'd say you might get that. If it's already discounted it might me more unlikely. Any shop offering free finance ought to be able to discount for cash, that finance will cost them something. My three local shops offer 10% discount for any of the local clubs, including one that only costs a couple of quid to join!
How you go about asking is another matter, I'm not the best negotiator, I generally just ask what the best price they can do is.

I would take the Venge, im actually thinking of breaking my new Tarmac and getting another Venge. That not a reason thought, just shows im strange.. lol

What's your take on the cable routing? I quite fancy the internal cable routing of the Venge. That's currently the only reason I wouldn't go for the Tarmac or another Roubaix, and don't know if it's a big enough issue to put me off those two bikes.

My Tarmac has very similar cable routing to my Venge... you can see both of them in my album if you want a closer look.
I consider both bikes to feature internal routing, I'm not sure if this changes on either if your running a mechanical shift but with Di2 they are quite similar IMHO.
In all reality the Tarmac is the better bike and by a long shot, its just so good its almost clinical in how effective it is, this makes it feel a little sterile at times, where as the Venge is less complete and more compromised which makes it feel more lively and exciting to ride.
