The lunar landing was a big event. It was fun. I had a cardboard model of the spaceships that was free, from the gas station. One of those fold over "A" and fit into tab "B" sort of things.

Those were very nice models, those Airfix. Although I tended toward building all variants of the Spitfire and Mustang, for some reason. I think the Mustang was because we still saw Mustangs in daily use, guarding Illinois skies from the dreaded Iowans.
