Something like that - my folks' street used to be used as a car-park from 8am until 8pm for the Scottish Examination Board markers during the marking period every year. The police were unable to do anything about it, other than regularly towing or ticketing any cars that parked too close to the junctions at either end of the street.

You are right (though I remember as a child winding down the window to reach the handle on the outside or climbing out the window
), but I guess if you think its ok to leave them with the various potential dangers then you probably haven't got around to thinking about putting on the child locks.

Assuming such an old car has an alarm fitted, hopefully it does not have front passenger side air bags.
Considering the way the law works these days, when people try to do the right thing, I probably would have been arrested for attempted child abduction then had the locals marching the streets with "kill the paediatrician" placards.

A disturbing addition to my original post, it can be seen the baby is asleep in the front passenger seat in a rear facing car seat.
I have found information that the model of VW Golf used has passenger side air bags fitted as standard.
Rear facing baby car seats should never be put in the front passenger seat if an passenger air-bag is present due to the serious risk of death if the air-bag goes off for whatever reason.

Yeah, maybe.. and the person who thought it alright to park in such a stupid place and leave the baby inside would obviously have done that... right?? Right?? Hmmmm, maybe not.
Oy! its newer than mine.
Mine is newer that that one and I consider it an old car, dependable and reliable but still old, if finances allowed it would be replaced with a newer fitter slimmer model.

I don't know if anyone noticed that there is a removals van there as well so it could well be related, i.e. someone is moving in and having a look before bringing the kid in, I would be more concerned about some dodgy character video recording the baby. It does seem a little creepy to me.
