Two thoughts.... firstly as a concerned citizen I would have phoned the Police, especially as the car was in a position where it is likely to be hit.

Secondly - lets not get too heated about the video argument as both sides have a point

If the situation is a regular occurrence then yes there is a s possibility that the child could be put at risk
If the situation is a one off then no harm has been done

We can't actually say for definite which one is the case

I'm finding it hard to imagine that you might actually be serious.

Perhaps I am being overly critical, in which case I apologise, I always get badly affected by media reports of child abductions and may be paranoid enough about it to think that abductors collect information like specific details on cars and homes that have kids in them, my problem with it is that the description is very specific in that it includes make, model and reg number, the poster advertises the town in his sig so if someone did want to use the information for nefarious purposes then all the info is there, IMHO it places a child at further risk for no good reason. I will not say any more on the subject.

You're not making any sense at all and your conclusions have ended up looking contrived.

Why would a child abductor, fortunately an extremely rare type of person in this country despite the media hysteria, spend their time watching boring commuting videos, recorded by a weirdo cyclist, to gain such information, that assumption just beggars belief.

Surely it would be easier just to go to a busy car park and stand near the parent/toddler spaces to obtain this information, which is pretty useless anyway or just stand outside peoples houses until they see which one's have children.

How you can suggest that I have put this child at any further risk at all is quite contemptible.

This is a very strange situation I had never come across before and as such I had absolutely no idea what to do about it. I didn't even know if leaving a baby like that was illegal. While thinking about what for ten minutes or so I went and checked but the car had gone, I later reported it to the Police via their non-emergency number. The officer I spoke with indicated they would probably visit the driver and tell not not to do it again.
Not immediately doing something about the situation I found is something I regret, if it ever happened again, hopefully it never does, I will call the Police straight away without hesitation.

You may not agree with my videoing my commute and posting anything I feel worthy on the internet but it is not illegal to film in a public place or illegal to post videos recorded in public on the internet, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree with filming somethings, it does have its place. And have not said I dissagree with you filming things. My point was that you didnt check the childs safety at all while doing this service for everyone , or was it for your own benefit, to make you look safety concious?
So if I read you right, you filmed, noting a baby in the car on its own, in a dangerous position, then you left with out checking if this baby was ok or not.?
Returning ten minutes later? A lot can happen in ten minutes.
If your going to get involved with commenting and filming about a dangerous situation where a baby has been left on its own, might I suggest you check on the baby first before leaving it alone for ten minutes in this situation, before thinking about it for ten minutes then deciding to go back.
Thinking out loud , I would doubt you went back ten minutes later as it seems you have said that to answer questions asked of you. thats just me thinking out load and my own opinion , as I feel you would have added this to your origional post if you had done this. just my doubting head on.

Children are much, much more likely to be abused by people they know, so Catrike, your crusade against "teh evul baby snatchers OMG !!!!11111Eleven" is ludicrous. I fail to see how this video has increased the danger to this child by one iota. And your thinly veiled insinuations that the person posting the video ("this fellow has a very odd way about him") is some kind of paedo is very strange.
