Four months now with the Genesis ebike and I'm delighted. I've ridden about 700km on it and, predictably, I'm making a few changes. The saddle has been changed for a Brooks B17, and now the Somerset lanes are mucky I need to do something about the mudguards.

This is after 30km.

The mudguard does a good job of keeping my feet clean, but allows all the muck onto the battery and motor. I'll be adding flaps.

Range is great. I normally ride on setting one of three and use settings two and three freely when hills appear. 50km uses about half the battery, so if be comfortable planning 70km days on tour, and would expect to get to 100km with care.

How's the cheaty-steed now @All uphill?

A mate is looking to get an ebike and I gently suggested one of these to him; however he's looking at shite from the more mainstream brands so I fear all hope is lost.

That aside I hope whatever he gets it helps get him out of the car for the commute.. while it might make the odd shared ride I browbeat him into more tolerable for me as I think previous have had an average speed of about 8mph :tongue:

It's going well, thanks.

Just about 1000 miles in ten months of ownership.

I'm using my meat powered Spa more, at the moment, in preparation for my annual tour in the Netherlands in early June. All that cheating on the ebike has left my legs a bit wobbly. Interestingly (to me anyway) my heart and lungs seem to be unaffected by the use of battery power.

I love the Genesis for utility rides, made easy by the Atran Velo luggage racks and bags. My biggest load so far was three 40 litre bags of compost on the back and one bag of grit on the front.

Grand - glad to hear it!

Likewise it's great to hear that you're still riding the Spa - I thought maybe the ebike heralded the end of the meat-powered (:tongue:) era; thankfully not!

Also :

Three 40 litre bags of compost on the back and one bag of grit on the front.

Sh*t the bed :ohmy::laugh:
