New arrival: Gitane or something else?

Well. Consensus from the few who looked it is that it's a Gitane. Brian was there but chatting away.

Oh, and whilst the bike rides well it decided to jam the chain uphill leading to an unplanned dismount. Otherwise all good; I like this more than the Raleigh Sports I have so that may go soon.

True, but the Raleigh Sports's got 1950-ish thread issues as well. To date all it needs is grease, bearings, downtube cable guide and a chainring bolt.

A very nice looking bike.
Studying the photos made me realize that one of my wheels may have a tub fitted. It was spotting what looked like rim tape protruding from the rim made me think that I had seen that on one of my wheels .

Over coffee this morning Brian said he'd only ever paid for two bikes; his first and his first e-Bike. So the Gitane would've been a team bike.
