This could be handy after sleepless nights:
happy days. Thanks for all your comments
everyone we know has been so nice it's incredible.
I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready to deal with a proper smile!Congratulations!
We are 6 weeks ahead of you.
From memory - first two weeks are great - you are running on adrenaline.
Weeks 3 and 4 are tough, as the tiredness starts to take over.
After that, it gets better as you start to get more sleep.
Awaiting our first proper smile. We've had a few attempts, and one or two possibles so far.
She's feeding every 4 at the moment, but I'm sure that'll increase as she has growth spurts. She's such a contented baby so far it's amazing. She's only cried once since she was born 3 days ago!Sleep deprivation comes from 2-hourly feeds. Wife can't drop off with the same immediacy that I can muster, hence was seriously short of sleep for a while.

we had a good first night at home. She was a bit grumbly until about midnight, then settled with one feed at 5Cheers allwe had a good first night at home. She was a bit grumbly until about midnight, then settled with one feed at 5
I was saying to OH last night that when I'm holding her, or feeding her, I feel more relaxed than I've ever felt. It's quite intoxicating! It must be a very primal mechanism, maybe so we learned to comfort our young.Nice one
I bet you been sniffing her baby smell that all newborns have. Can't describe the smell but it's soooo comforting.
